ONLINE TEAMS MEETING
What to expect
1. Learning experiences to build conceptual understanding
Each 60-minute online session will begin with a short lesson that explicitly teaches a SCSA or WA Curriculum syllabus concept. I will model how to respond to the given learning activity and share an example of a 'good' written response. Students will then write their own response independently and receive personalised feedback on how to improve their writing. If students would prefer to spend the 60-minutes working on a school-based English task, that's not a problem. We will unpack the marking rubric, questions or writing prompts together. Let's do this!
2. One-on-one teacher time
During our online tutoring session, you're encouraged to ask questions, seek clarification, receive support and develop your initial ideas further, building subject confidence. These sessions are a safe space to 'be real' and receive personalised teacher guidance in the form of a supportive and professional conversation.
3. Productive working time
All students will set a goal for the session and upload their work to OneNote to receive written feedback on what they've produced in the 60 minutes. Whether students have a task due tomorrow, homework to complete or want additional set-work - we'll get it done!
Weekly tutoring sessions can be booked in advance or more sporadically at a student's point of need (e.g. assessment help).
